Hi,

I have just purchased Windows 7 Professional 64 bit & I believe it's backwards compatible with XP software????

I have a netgear wireless adaptor that I cannot find any Windows 7 64 bit drivers for so does it mean that if I download & install the XP driver it should work?

Thx.
Lee.

Has Windows not installed a default driver for it? It's picked up pretty much every network card I've thrown at it including Netgear products.

You -can- use some Windows XP drivers, but you have to disable driver signing and other hardware checks at boot time, as x64 REQUIRES signed drivers. And it's never very stable if you manage to get it working.

Chances are though that the actual chipset of the wireless adaptor won't be netgear, but by someone like lucent etc. Maybe you could find drivers for the chipset from some other manufacturer?
