Windows 7 Aero Support

Windows 7 comes on a DVD. You have a DVD drive.
I think everyone is getting confused between CD's and DVD's.
You can get data on both, but a DVD holds more.

You DO have a DVD drive.

Yes.

First of all, have you backed up everything that needs keeping, as once you format, there will be no more data on the hard drive. You will lose everything you havent saved to another disk.

yeah, all my important stuff (music, homework < thats all) is saved on my usb stick

You will probably need to go into your BIOS and look for an option which says (something like)
Enable USB keyboard support.
Set this to enable.

After that you will be able to run the DVD setup by pressing any key when it asks you to.

Lets try and get this all in one post guys or he's just going to get super confused.

Step 1:

To get into your bios you need to press delete once your pc turns on, it'll say something like "press delete to enter bios/setup" at the bottom of the screen.

You will probably need to go into your BIOS and look for an option which says (something like)
Enable USB keyboard support.
Set this to enable.

Step 2:

In your bios you need to set the boot priority to the dvd drive

Once you're finished doing the below, save the changes in the bios, it should say how but it's usually done by pressing f10.

Step 3:
put in windows 7 64bit dvd, and press a key when asked.

Make sure your DVD is already inserted in the dvd drive. Turn on the computer. After the first screen you should see something that says something like "Press any key to continue". Do this and then follow the prompts. Don't be impatient, it may take a little while.

Okay, I just enabled the usb keyboard support, ill let you guys know how I do.

Thanks

I don't want to confuse you, but assuming you have a spare pc you can get to the net on, have a look at this:

http://www.techtalkz.com/windows-7/514412-windows-7-installation-guide-tutorial.html

The bit that is slightly confusing is the "Which type of installation do you want?" bit. You want to go the custom installation route. Now assuming you don't have anything you want to keep on the computer any more and that it's all backed up properly, you want to delete any and all existing partitions on that screen and create one new one. When you click the create bit it fill in the numbers for you by default, leave this as it is and continue.

The rest really should be pretty easy.
