I'im on win 7 64bit now. .

I choose 60rHz, but when i go back to it, it says 59.
have a check for us to see if it's still on 60.
Go to desktop, right click, click screen resolution/ then advanced settings, then monitor.

just see what it's on for me please mate, as i just want to see if it's just mine. but i've got around it now by using powerstrip.
as with 59hz, i would get very bad stutters in pro evo. with 60hz via powerstrip, it's smooth as silk. a lot of ppl say it dont matter, but in some games for me, it give me issues.

Anyway lol. what u have to do with your 30 cap issue, is download rivertuner,
http://downloads.guru3d.com/RivaTuner-v2.09-download-163.html

Install it as normal. once all done. click on start, (left hand bottom corner) click all programs, look for rivertuner, click on that, and other stuff will come up. look for D3Doverdrive.

click on that, then that will go stright to your tray on the bottom right hand corner. (should do) then click on that to open it up. then to get it to work in whatever game you are playing. look under Application profile properties, click the big ish + sign at the bottom left hand corner. then look for your games .exe.

I.E. mine will be. Local Disk (C) Program files(x86) pro evo, then pes2010. which will be my pes2010.exe. the .exe starts games up.

then you will back to where you started. make sure games .exe is highlighed. then choose application detection high, then force triple buffering on, then force vsync on.

just turn vsync off in your ati control panel. not sure if it really make any difference to be honest mate. but do it just incase.

it wont work if u don't choose your .ex thou.
Let me know how u get on :)

Another work around for pro evo is to set your desktop resolution to 1440x900 before playing, 60 hertz should then stick and the option to enable vsync will no longer be greyed out in the pro evo config tool. Had me stumpted for a while but it seems it's a common prob with Win 7 and a select few games.

OP, what games are capping you at 30fps?

Don't forget vsync bumps you down to the highest of 15, 30 or 60 frames all depending on what your card can handle without vsync enabled. For example, if it can only manage 50 frames with vsync disabled, it'll only run at 30 frames with it enabled, unless of course the engine makes use of triple buffering.

Also, some games, e.g dead space and shatter horizon, have an ingame vsync cap of 30, although most are easily fixable by turing the ingame vsync option off and forcing it via the graphics control panel.

Yeah works a treat that. no more powerstrip ;)
Cheers..

True but he has a 5770 VAPOR X.
But game, or games is this happening with ?

sorry bout the delay getting major probs with crysis was fine yesterday

ok quick rundown usually play at dx 10 very high runs from 25fps >>>
but lately been playing on the high setting cause it runs so fast usually 45fps >>>>>
i was getting tearing at some parts due to it running over the 60fps on high(mainly when being stealthy in the prone position crawling around slowly) so i turned on vsync but it's capping it to 30FPS yesterday it was capping it at 60 fps so i really can't understand why it's doing it

Use "D3D overrider" to enforce triple buffering in direct 3D. as it's meant to help with the cap. helped me. direct 3d games are not supported by tripple buffering via the nvidia or CCC ati control panel. it only supports OpenGL. read this thread and try few things. thats where i got the idea off for that program.
also, if you run all out max setting with high res on that card. you shouldn't get 60fps surley. crysis is one demanding game :)

lol i wish i could get 60fps on crysis at very high

on all high setting i get 45fps and up sometimes over 60 if moving slow or waiting for an ambush and the random tearing pees me off a little i game at 1920x1080 and don't usually use AA so i tend to get quite a few more frames out of that
