Hi, my friend had his laptop stolen around 7 months ago. He has just ordered a new one without an os. He found his Windows 7 disk but the little sticker with the product key must have been stuck to his laptop.
He wants to know, if he installed Windows 7 from the disk will it ask for the key immediately, or will it give him a month trial of Windows? If that was the case could he just buy a Windows 7 key from Amazon and activate it at a later date?
