Out of the blue Windows 7 froze on me and would proceed to freeze every time I tried to boot it up.

I booted into safe mode, disabled the Nvidia driver for my GTX 260 and I could boot into normal Windows 7. So I uninstalled the driver, downloaded the latest one and installed that. Same problem, I can't boot into normal Windows 7.

Is it hanging when it is on the "starting windows" screen? If so I had this problem for ages with windows 7 & my 8500GT, I kept trying different drivers from Guru3d until it worked. The newest drivers have been fine though.

What AV software are you using?

Might be interfering..

Any recent hardware/software changes that could affect it?

Try installing 7 on another hard drive and see if that install has the same problem.
BIOS update for motherboard.

Nvidia drivers working fine for millions of other people.

i had issues and in the end, unzipped the latest drivers and installed from device manger running update driver and browsing to the unzipped nvid folder, worked for me

Sorry I meant to say MY Windows 7 doesn't like MY Nvidia drivers, but I couldn't edit the title.

Booted up this morning and everything is hunky dory. *Shrug*
