Windows 7 File Permissions Problem

Hey

I did google but did not find much help

I have a Slight Problem Trying to back up a laptop. (WinXP) to my PC Win7Pro

I have removed the HDD from the laptop and im using a USB caddy to get the data off the HDD.

My problem is i am trying to access the Documents and settings Folder but windows 7 is telling me that i do not have Permission.
My User is an admin account

I added my User (ghost/steve) to the Permissions box and i get an access Denied Box

Any ideas where im going wrong?

I could do it with vista but since installing win7 iv had no luck

I've been thinking about this since I raed your post earlier today, I was sure I had the problem when opening some Windows XP backups on a Vista system.

The problem you have is file ownership, tried a quick Google and came up with this page: http://www.blogsdna.com/2159/how-to...sions-to-access-files-folder-in-windows-7.htm

Read all that and see if it helps, I'm sure I had to do something similar.
