I've had this since having Win7 but it's taken until today to get really annoyed about it.

Anyone else experience this - you have windows explorer open, shift about or delete some files, and it doesn't refresh, so looks like they're still where they started, until you hit F5.

Similarly if downloading stuff or exporting from a program, populating a folder... no refresh, so it doesn't look like anything has happened until you hit F5.

Anyone had this and managed to get it to refresh as a matter of course?

Have you tried running

Code:
sfc /scannow

From an elevated CMD prompt?

Have you tried a repair install?

Have you simply tried reinstalling Windows?

Well I've had the problem since getting this laptop new and fresh with a factory install on it. I think I remember it happening on my old laptop on a fresh Win7 install too, so can't be sure.

Don't want to do a full wipe and reinstall if it's not going to do anything...

Have you tried my first two suggestions? They do not delete any personal data, though some customizations may be reset [wallpapers, themes, icons etc - nothing major].

No, I haven't yet.

Was wondering if someone had actually had the same specific problem before spending too much time trying lots of things out really - I don't mean to ignore your suggestions :)

Probably caused by an application you have installed. Either something that hooks into context menus or perhaps an AV app. Perhaps even a video driver, but that would be pushing it.

I get this with files on the desktop, i keep lots of daily used reports and queries and if i delte i need to hit f5 to make them disappear from the desktop - a little annoying.

Thanks
