running out of ideas here, and beginning to think i'm missing the obvious, but BluZiff may be on the right track, when windows 7 is installing, your machine will reboot, do you 'press a key' to boot from the disk again? (you shouldn't)

i dont press anything, i get the four whirling colours where it says windows starting that lasts for about 30 seconds. Then the blue screen with the white bird, and my cursor which i can move around. After about 3-5mins the dvd starts spinning and the systen reboots. I haven't even registered the product yet or use the product id.

Again i am at the select language screen, did that now i have the install now click option or repair my computer.

not sure then terrystar, gotta hit the sack but will think on it, hopefully someone with a similar issue may have some ideas, or maybe we're missing the obvious

that was interesting it was installing then all of a sudden there was a continuous buzzing noise, according to my m/board booklet a continuous beep is graphics card not seated properly...

Try reseating the graphics card, memory and disconnect/reconnect all power cables.

Also, check you have connected power cables to the graphics card, if required.

It maybe worth downloading Memtest (as Nade suggested) and running that (booting from memory stick or CD), it may show you have a hardware problem.

edit: Another thought, try running the HD diagnostic app for your drive, something should be available from the manufacturers website. Oh, if you have another graphics card available, try fitting that instead.

Right today i managed to get to the screen where you accept the terms and conditions, however, for some reason it doesn't recognise my hdd i have installed. So it asks me to select where i want it installed.

what motherboard do you have?

set your SATA to AHCI or IDE mode, W7 should pick it up to install onto the drive then

hey everyone,

This is an update about the problem i had, still no solution but i am going to rma the board ram gpu and cpu for tests.

Also i put the windows 7 install disk into my wifes laptop and within minutes it was ready to install, so the disk is ok its just hardware.

I will let you know the outcome, should be about friday.

terrystar take the W7 disc out of the tray when it reboots then go into boot menu and boot into harddrive mate just try it before going down the RMA route;)

Set your bios back to default let your m/board decide,,as am willing to bet W7 is already loaded to HDD Your first boot devise wants to be HDD not CD

could you plug the hard drive into another machine, boot that machine up, go to disk management (found in control panel->computer management), set this hard drive as active (right click it, choose mark as active), shutdown, then put the hard drive back in your new build and try again?

also, might be handy if you could detail all the settings in your bios for us too

Can you get to the command prompt via W7 boot DVD (repair option)?
You can use diskpart to set the partition(s) up inc making it active.

Thanks for the replies everyone,

This is what i have done, Plugged HDD into laptop via ide/sata cabel to usb and ran WD dagnostic for 4.5 hours and it passed.

Also i tried to load windows 7 onto this HDD through the laptop but when i got to the option of where to install it the my HDD wasn't in the list. Just to add when i tried this on my new build i plugged a USB HDD in and this HDD was on the list.

When i choose to boot from cd/dvd i get the screen which says load windows 7 or test the memory, when i choose to load windows 7 the next screen is the options screen to load safe mode etc. When i choose and option i go back to the screen before.

The m/board, cpu, gpu and ram are boxed ready to go and to be honest, i shouldn't have this problem loading an OS,plus there must be a problem as loading it on my wifes laptop with no problems at all. So unless you think trying one last time is worth it i think i will just see what the rma comes up with.

Thank you

Guys i got it to load and i am now using windows 7.

I accessed the hdd via usb to ide/sata cable, through my wifes laptop, went into computer management and initilized the hard drive, built my pc again and loaded windows 7.

Need to know should you always initialize the hdd if it is an oem?

Have you attempted to boot from the DVD and perform a Windows Repair?

Also, Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/w7itpro/ . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams.
