Hi guys,

I received a pop-up message from Windows 7 that reads;

"Windows 7 has detected your computers performance is slow." - It then reccommends I change the Windows 7 theme to improve performance.

This concerns me, as I've just upgraded.

My spec:

Intel Core i5-2500k 3.3GHz
Radeon HD 6850
Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB
Maxtor 6L200M0 ATA HDD

Now, I made a thread a few weeks ago querying if my dated HDD would affect my computers speed, as I had noticed slow start up speeds and long load times when first loading Windows 7.

My concern is that my old setup...

AMD Ahtlon 4400+ x2
7800 GTX
2gb corsair ram
Maxtor 6L200M0 ATA HDD

...was running the same HDD and on Windows 7. Not once did I receive this Windows 7 pop-up message.

I'm worried something isnt right...

Any ideas?

Thanks

complex

I get this loads... i7 2600K @ 4.6ghz, 8GB of RAM, GTX580

Had it over several reinstalls, can't work out what's causing it.

Do you have a second screen plugged in?

I ask because I have, wondered if that was what was causing it. Can't say I suffer any ill effects from it though, so I just swear at it every time it appears and tell it to get lost.

recently started to get this, coincided with me installing, and starting to play battlefield 3, have you recently installed any memory hungry programs ?

I have it when I open specific programs - Specifically Cyberlink PowerDVD. I think there's another one but can't remember it atm.

8GB of RAM, 2500k, 480, 120GB SSD...

I had this last month. It coincided with Deus-Ex telling me that my GFX card didnt have enough vram to turn all the eye candy on.

Haven't seen it since though.

Happens to me, usually after Just Cause 2, Dirt 3 and COD4 Occasionally. Think I got one from GTA IV once. But It Runs. Metro, Crysis, Warhead, BF BC2 all fine with no Pop Ups.

Very Strange.

Yeh i get this too :/ i tend to get it when playing bf3 and bfbc2. espcially irritating when im playing multiplayer and my game just minimises

At least i'm not the only one ha!

As other people have said, it doesn't appear to be affecting performance in any way. Just a bit of an inconvinience.

Is it something do with GPU memory saturation maybe?

What annoys me most is when you click "get lost and don't bother me again" and it still comes up next time. Usual helpful Windows feature... :D

If you have Virtu installed, and the onboard enabled, maybe disable them? I had this problem quite often when I had my second monitor using the HD 3000. Stuck it back to my 6850 now and solved the problem (but the 6850's idle temps went up by 12c...).

I got this today on my new system, and its far from slow.
Did it in BF3. The most annoying part is, you tell it to go away and never return, but it does.
