I currently use the RC windows 7 and it runs out soon.

How can i intall a new windows 7 and keep my programs etc?

Is it posible?

No mate you need to do a clean install according to an email i got from MS the other day.

can i put all my programs on to an external drive and ten put them back?

one problem i have is i've got photoshop cs4 and the disc is now damaged - i believe i can get another disc, but is there anyway to just transfer it to the fresh install etc.

You could try it but they may not work wothout being reinstalled properly.

Prob wont work. Re-Install is the only real way of getting it working stable.

I agree with That Guy.

However there is a dodgey hack around that may work, depends if you want to give it go or not.

The recommended advice from Microsoft is to do a clean install.

As has been said, you can only format and install your copy of Windows 7. Make sure you back up all your data before formatting. You can also download Adobe Photoshop CS4 from Adobe, so there's no need for the CD.

cheers - only trouble with photoshop is the key code - i don't have that anymore, got lost while moving house.
