Next to the ketchup...
Hi guys, right I've been out the PC hardware scene for some time, and I've just been given a PC by my brother, only thing it was missing was a hard drive.

So purchased a 320gig sata drive & a copy of windows 7. Everything fine until I go to install windows...

boot from disk is all fine, copies initial files ok, set up the hard drive, all correctly formatted. Click next, gets to "Expanding Windows Files" and sits at 0%

I left it for and hour earlier and came back, still the same, so tried again, formatted everything and exactly the same problem only 2 hours this time!

Is this normal, is it going to take a full day to install, or is something seriously wrong!

A common solution to this problem is removing all but one memory stick, and disabling some of the devices in the BIOS.

Yep, tried it with one stick of ram on the second try, also disabled any sort of floppy drive in the bios :(
