Windows 7 Issue Please Help

hey ive been running 3d mark 06 on windows 7, when i did a test just now my pc blue screened (i think the heat in my room pushed it over the edge) and now when i reboot windows 7 just gets to welcome with the spinning circle and thats it, upto then everything is fine, any ideas? i really dont want to re install windows so any solution would be great that will not involve formatting ! thanks for your time.

just a quick note, i rebooted in safe mode and i got to the desktop no problems if this helps anyone figure it out

How long have you been waiting with the spinning circle there? I know it sounds stupid, but wait longer! I've found with Vista that occasionally when it hard reboots it takes an age to reach the OS.

fixed it ! not sure why but after booting safe mode resetting and loading normally it just worked, anyone able to explain why this worked? seems random to me. I waited 15mins before and that circle just kept spinning lol
