Hello,

I built a PC for my friend around this time last year and everything has gone smoothly since then up until this past week.

He has been receiving a message in the bottom right saying the following:

"Windows 7
Build 7601
This copy of Windows is not genuine"

Or something to that effect.

He has a gneuine copy of Windows 7, bought from Overclockers!

He does not use the PC for anything other than gaming. He doesnt look at the rudey bits of the web. (He has a laptop for that :p)

It's fully up to date with Windows Updates as well.

Before I go off on a Googling adventure, I was wondering if any one has had this before?

If it truly is genuine then re-activate it online. If it won't let you then phone the Microsoft number.

If not then look into Daz Windows 7 loader ;)

It only occurs every few days.

Its definitley a genuine version of Windows 7.

How do we go about re-activating it?

When he checks in System Properties, it comes up saying its activated and the message on the desktop disappears.
