Windows 7 - MSDN

I've downloaded windows 7 though my universitys MSDN. The file seems to download fine but when it gets to stage 3 'unpacking', progress stops and gets stuck at the very beginning of 'checking file CRC'. Ive left it overnight and tried on two different computers and every time it gets stuck at the same point.

Any ideas whats going on, and how I fix this? I have ample dick space so that isn't the problem.

Download the whole thing again, looks like there is a problem with the hash.

I've downloaded it twice on this PC and once on another. Everytime it hits the same problem.

I've had this problem once, almost finished my second download (it's taking forever... not as quick as it normally is to download). Hope it doesn't happen again.

Hmm, odd. Could you try the 32 bit version?

Yeah I'll download the 32 bit version just to see what happens, but ultimately I want to install the x64 version.

Are there any third party unpackers that I could use to do this?

I wish sometimes they would give you a plain old .iso :rolleyes:

I tried that and followed the guide (http://www.nice-download.net/decompress-sdc-files/) and in cmd I get the message 'unpacksdc is not a recognised internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Yeah a plain old .iso would be nice right now. Having said that I've not had any problems with this in the past.

Sounds like you're not in the correct folder, or haven't extracted unpacksdc.exe there.

No error message and I left It going over night for over 8 hours.

I put the unpacksdc.exe file in the same folder as the download. DO i havr to do anything else. I double clicked on it to install it and nothing seemed to happen.

And here is exactly what I have tried typing in to cmd

Navigate to the correct folder before issuing the command, i.e. cd c:\temp (assuming that's where the sdc file is).

You're in C:\Users\kyle at the moment, so telling it to execute C:\Users\kyle\unpacksdc.exe which doesn't exist.

or ask someone else who has MSDN / Technet to burn and send him a DVD with the ISO on it

ok this unpacker seems to be working but I am a little confused by the next step (http://www.nice-download.net/decompress-sdc-files/)

Ive done this part

How to decompress SDC files?
Keep the “unpacksdc.exe” in the folder which has “.sdc” files
unpacksdc filename.sdc C:\

The next step is this

The Unpacker and multi-part SDC files
copy /b filename_1.sdc+filename_2.sdc filename_merge.sdc
unpacksdc filename_merge.sdc C:\

Now im not sure if this is a mulipart .sdc. The file from MSDNAA came in two parts. One is the main windows download and the second is only 180 bites and is called en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_x15-65805.01.sdc.tmp.

So is this a multi-part stc?

If not do I just ignore this stage?
