many many thanks in advance

yes i've tried them and it finds my bt home hub but wont connect :( also ive d/l and installed css and it wont load that up im confsed, is it becuase of new windows 7? cheers for responces i appreciate it

Go into Device Manager, Start > Computer > System Properties > Device Manager.

Find the NIC in the list, is there a little Yellow Triangle on the entry or in it's properties that would imply it's not installed correctly?

Also is this a proper PCI card or onboard NIC? It's likely if it is a proper PCI expansion card that there might be onboard LAN as well.

its a proper pci and when i try connect my pc just crashes? i've phoned linksys up and they said it wont work on windows 7.

If you purchased the PC from OcUK, can you link us to it? If you didn't, just let us know what it's called due to the no competitors link rule.

Right, from the description it uses a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 which has Dual Gigabit Lan.

Are you certain that it's an extra PCI card?

Do you use Msn / Windows Live messenger? If you do, add me (details in sig) and I'll try and talk you through a few things.

somebody mentioned right clicking on the setup icon of the pci linksys adapter and going onto properties then on the compatibility tab there is another drop down box saying run this in compatibilty mode for: then you can choose either windows xp, xp(service pack2) or Service pack3 or vista or vista service pack 1 or vist service pack 3, im sure i've tried the vista drivers for it but it keeps crashing my whole pc! :( please help me!
