OK, I know this score means less than my car's emissions test, but I am curious to see if there is any real ryme or reason to it.

So if you're up for it - those with Windows 7, post your scores along with the hardware, I'll start (though these seem low to me):

CPU: 6.6 (E8400 @ Stock)
RAM: 7.0 (Corsair Dominator 4GB PC2-8500)
GFX: 6.8 (1Gb 4870 xXx)
Gaming GFX: 6.8
HDD: 5.9 (WD 1Tb Black)

My HDD is only 5.9 aswell and I have two single platter 320 gig drives in Raid 0 so dont feel bad.

Ah well, fair enough, guess it really doesn't mean much then.

Would be curious to know what someone with a SSD gets...

Intel E8400 at stock
4GB DDR2 8500
2x Samsung SSDs RAID0
ATI Radeon 4870 at stock

Q6600 - 3.7Ghz
4GB PC2-6400 4-4-4-12
Nvidia 8800GTX
WD Raptor 36GB

My hard drive was stuck at 2.9; then I switched to a Samsung F1, and boosted it up to 5.9. Theoretically you'd expect my system to be at least twice as fast now as the bottleneck is 'twice as good' however I've noticed no difference, apart from a few seconds off boot up time... I'm not very impressed with this Experience Index. I should be either "Yes, you can use Aero" or "No, you can't" :P

However, to join the trend, I'll post my numbers anyway.

CPU: 7.1 (Q6600 currently at stock.)
RAM: 5.9 (OCZ Gold Edition 2GB PC3-12800 and 2GB PC3-10666) (surprisingly low!)
GFX: 7.9 (512MB 4850) Higher than a 1GB 4870!?!??!
Gaming GFX: 6.6
HDD: 5.9 (Samsung F1 1TB)

Yep, looks like we're pretty much just confirming that it really is as useless as people claim. Can't see any rhyme or reason for some of these scores compared to others.

Yup, completely irrelevant as far as I can see. Just overclocked my Q6600 from 2.6 to 3.3, and it didn't change the score at all.

They look vaguely useful for those who don't actually care all that much about hardware - eg my brother might look at it and go "this game wants a 4 minimum score, and mine has 4.8 so it's good"

For enthusiasts it's useless, we all know 2 SSDs in raid> 1ssd = 2hdd in raid > 1 hdd and that the E84 at stock is faster than the E52 at stock etc

Yeah, guess the scores dont really make much difference...but I will post mine anyway:

CPU: Q6600 @ 3.57GHz 7.4
RAM: Corsair 4GB DDR2 7.4
GFX: Sapphire HD2600XT 5.8
Gaming GFX: 5.1
HDD: 1x250GB 1x1TB 5.9

Base score of 5.1. I am still thinking of upgrading said GPU from 2600XT to either a 4670 or 4770...but not sure yet :D but no rush...
