I just bought a 50" LG 50PK350, to replace my old Panasonic 42" Plasma. And for some reason I am having problems with the screen having flickers of static in certain parts of the screen. Its very small amounts of noise, but its very frequent!

On occasion the screen flickers off for about 2 seconds, I have tried different resolutions and refresh rates with no success. At both 60Hz & 50Hz it occurs. The flicker has got worse over time, happens about 5 times per hour? It happens on all programs, and even the desktop when nothing is going on.

I have checked all the drivers and they are current, and I know its not the cable as I tried the same £95 cable on my PS3 and it had no problems. The PC media centre uses a HDMI connection, a full sheilded HDMI cable back to the TV.

Any ideas what to try next? Or has anyone had this problem too????

your using a plasma telly as a monitor... i do hope you have a decent screensaver, plasma tellies wholeheartedly dislike static images being displayed for any length of time, just like rear projection tellies. i'm sure you didn't spend all that money just for your screen to end up looking like an old cash machine screen...

get an lcd and the problem will vanish like magic, troof.
