I don't have much space I can spare on my 80GB Mac but wanted to know what I should allocate to Windows 7 on Bootcamp and still have enough for the software I need to install.

So wondered how much space Windows 7 Pro uses for its install?

Thanks.

With hibernate disabled and my pagefile on another disk I'm using just under 9GB with Windows 7 Pro x64. Add on however many GB you need to to account for pagefile/hibernate file. Don't have all that many programs installed on my Windows partition though since my games are on another partition.

Don't forget to allocate space for updates. Might be a bit of a squeeze on 80GB depending on what you have on your OSX partition.

My Windows 7 Pro install on my laptop is about 3 weeks old and my C: drive is already at 26GB being used.

Windows Folder: 13GB
Users: 2.5GB
Program Files [x86 and standard]: 2.5GB
hiberfil and pagefile sys files: 2.5GB ish combined.

Not sure where the other 6GB has gone... :p

I would say you could get by with 20GB if your media [music/videos/pictures] are already elsewhere and you don't intend to install a lot of applications.
