Windows 7 - random freezing

Hi all,

I recently clean installed Windows 7 and i'm now experiencing random freezing, sometimes my machine runs fine for 30 minutes, sometimes its 7 or 8 hours.

I've looked in event viewer and the only things that stand out (these occur everytime it freezes) are the following in windows logs/system:

"A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the dldfCATSCustConnectService service to connect"

and the next log is:

"The dldfCATSCustConnectService service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

I've tried using Google but to no avail, anybody have any ideas?

Machine spec:
Win 7
Chip - Phenom 9950
Mobo - M3N78-VM
Gfx - 9800GT
RAM - 4 x 1gb sticks
HDD - 2 x 250gb SATA

Did it freeze before the install? I'd personally re-install and see if that fixes it.

Nope, never had any issues before Win7 was installed at all.

run the windows memory diagnostics to test the memory for errors.

Normally I'd point the finger at RAM for random freezes, but I've never seen that sort of error message before. So...
