Windows 7 Re-installation HDD to SSD?

Can I just Acronis image an existing decent Windows 7 installation to a new SSD or do I have to install everything from scratch???

Thinking of getting an SSD to speed up general system but I'll hang on for a while longer if a reformat is the only way to do it without issue.

Yes, this should work fine. As the system boots it should install the drivers it needs.

Windows 7 has built in imaging if you weren't aware

It's in the "backup and restore" section in control panel

would this not cause issues at an ssd is a different kind of harddrive? i.e mechanical to a flashdrive equivilant?
