Windows 7 - Recovering data?

My friend has lost his uni work on his computer.

He loaded it up and it sounds like it created a temp profile as his normal desktop wasnt there. He then did his uni work and saved it but when he went back on it wasnt there as it started up his normal profile.

The only thing i have is getdataback but does that work on W7 32bit?

If not can you recommend any other programs?

Or can you recommend a search of some new feature that W7 has that might help?

I trying looking for the file and also for any docx files but no joy.

I am pretty certain anything saved to that profile is deleted once you reboot. I am also pretty certain the big fat error message you get tells you this. Why would he save Uni work to it still? :/

You could try getdataback or freeundelete and see if anything shows up.

getdataback doesnt seem to pick up the C drive when I ran that.

Any other programs that arent free? Some that work with W7?

Thanks but that didnt work. He is going to write it again. Reminded him to backup his work as he goes this time :rolleyes:

Backing up is very important, especially if it is important. Reading error messages is also important!
