Windows 7 Reinstall problems

I always have problems when it comes to reinstalling, it does my head in. Basically, I have a copy of windows 7 from MSDN through my uni. I downloaded it as a ISO file, so I burnt the image to disk using DAEMON Tools. The process of burning it seemed to work OK.

So I restarted my PC, set my BIOS to read the CD first which it did. Then when it came up with a screen saying windows is now loading files, it just stuck at that and bought up this error screen: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11365869/DSC_0796-2-Edit.jpg The only things which were plugged into my PC were my keyboard and mouse, and my CD drive was fine seeing as it just burnt the disc.

I went back into windows and tried to reinstall from there. I bypassed the screenshot above however it now doesn't recognise the disc, basically saying it isnt a Windows 7 disc.

A friend told me to use imgburn as this had worked for him in the past, so I burnt another copy of the disc using this - but now it wont even burn properly. I get this error message just before it finishes the burning process. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11365869/URGH.jpg

Sorry for the wall of text. This computer is really starting to annoy me.. :D

Any ideas?
 
Possibly a bad ISO as already suggested, how much space has been used on the DVD? Also what speed did you burn it at in IMGburn, the slower you burn at (generally speaking) the better the burn you get (in my experience anyway before any body starts :P)

try burning at a lower speed? different media if you have it? wiggle your drive cables? :p

i don't think a duff ISO would give those errors.

and haven't you got a 4GB (or more) memory stick kicking around. so much easier to install windows from that rather than faffing about with antiquated technology like DVDs. :D
 
Ok, so I managed to burn a disc without any errrors by burning at a slower speed.

However now, I get this message:

After the MSDN one not working, I've even tried by aqquiring a different ISO from elsewhere to use my serial number on but still - that ISO is bringing up the same error message as above.

Any ideas?
 
Check your bios and see if your sata controller is set to ahci mode as your DVD drive will not function correctly if its on a ahci sata port.
 
Always hash check your download!
Burn as slowly as poss ie X4 or X6 if you must. Then verify what you have written
What vertion have you bought?

That has sorted it! Thanks a lot dude! :) Currently seems to be installing W7 fine! :)
