sorry i can almost see how that can be mis-read now.

Copy n' paste Vista launch. Life changing OS; you'll wonder how you managed without it; the new standard in OS; blows all other OS's out of the water. When its nothing more than a clunky XP and MS are a lame duck.
If it wasn't for gaming windows would be taking space at the local landfil.

brummie, you're coming across as a bit of a zealot.
1) You refer to Microsoft as 'M$', which pretty much invalidates any subsequent posting.
2) You immediately blame 'user error' when any criticism of Linux is made, thus entirely missing the point that Windows is a better OS for the masses because it's much easier to configure.
3) You suggest, apparently without a hint of sarcasm, that people should buy specific hardware to use Linux, instead of sticking to Windows which supports pretty much every device released.

Before destroying the simple "When is Win7 released" thread. Poor guy probably doesn't know what hit him

What's this 'lots of work'? It's Release Candidate. That means done, finished, feature complete. There is nothing left to do. The only thing stopping them releasing that build are any *major* bugs.
...which is why when I installed the latest build of SuSE on my backup PC with 1GB of RAM, it used nearly all the RAM at startup and made me spend around half an hour setting it up. Windows 7 meanwhile runs surprisingly well on the same machine, using less RAM and requiring very little in the way of configuration. Neither is it bloated 'with crap'. Linux less hassle you say?
So, you're saying people should change their hardware just so they can install Linux? Absolutely laughable, puts it into the same league as the resource hog that is Windows Vista. Well done sir!![]()

1) M$ as its easy to type, it was immediately recognised - my choice TBH
I can't see it being released after Christmas. Why would MS hold back an OS that's essentially finished when there's lots of money to be made in the seasonal rush?
MS is an abbreviation of Microsoft that's easy to type.
M$ is an infantile quip at a successful company which makes you sound like you're about fourteen. It always puzzles me when people criticise Microsoft for trying to make money. Isn't that the aim of essentially every business?

To be fair to those that have gone slightly of topic which includes myself, there wasn't really a lot anyone could say about the release date of Windows 7 since no one can really be positively sure. We can only speculate when Microsoft will release Windows 7.
Nail and head spring to mind!Oh, the OT was highly humerous and I enjoyed the lulz and discussion about O/S's as I'm sure most did!
!

Hahah good old Linux .VS. Windows arguments.
Windows is far less hassle. <-- (That's a full stop)
Ths funniest part was yours too![]()

That is how I see it anyway. (I know this has come from generations of MS dominance in the OS market and a multitide of other factors, but hey! thats life
