Hi all

I have a Crucial C300 SSD which has Windows 7 installed on it. My issue is that even with this speedy drive, Windows takes ages to load. It's the black screen with the Windows logo that takes the longest; it sits there for about 30 seconds doing nothing, with no HDD activity, before it eventually kicks into life and finishes booting up.

Has anyone got any idea what could be causing this perioud of inactivity while booting, and how to fix it (short of a full reinstallation, which I would like to avoid)?

Many thanks

Michael.

has it always been slow or just started to go slow recently ?

It's been slow for a while now, I just haven't been bothered to do anything about it, but it was lightning quick when I first installed the OS.

I've just now removed the Intel AHCI driver and rebooted, and it's loaded up really quickly without the trademark hanging on the Windows logo that I've got used to!
