I understand that Windows 7 has Trim support for SSD's.
However, I also understand that there are three requirements for it to work :
1. OS must support TRIM (Windows 7)
2. SD Firmware must support Trim
3. Motherboard SATA/RAID Controller driver must support Trim
I have read that if I run the SSD in SATA/Legacy mode (not RAID) the Trim function will work without needing to update the motherboard SATA/RAID controller drivers.
Is this correct ? I have an Intel 975X based motherboard with the ICH7D SATA/RAID controller but I am not using RAID.
