Windows 7 start menu navigation pane

How can I add files and folders to the navigation pane (on the right)?

Short answer - you can't.

Long answer - you could create Libraries to what you want and add the Libraries button. Though it would be an extra click and not quite the same as having it right there.. Still useful though.

Having said that, does it really matter? When you pin to the Start Menu, it appears like 50 pixels to the left! Shock horror!

Vailid point. But I’m one of these peoples that’s fussy about desktop things like that, keeps me awake at night.
