So I am ordering my components soon and I need windows 7, I do go to college and have my own .ac.uk email however I can't access it from home because I don't think you can; it uses outlook at college. Can somone tell me how much the student offer is because if it's not much less than the normal price I will just buy it instead of waiting for half term to pass.

Also is it an upgrade or a full installation can I put it on a new HDD?

You will need to speak to your course leader or tutor or whatever. They will know whether your college/universiry has an MSDNAA agreement.

ok thanks, so does anyone know how much it will cost from the microsoft store for home premium or proffesional once you're give access to it? as a student i don't mind paying £30 or whatever.

You should have your own account if you qualify.

A lot of school's don't really make you aware... go talk to your IT guys... and not the "IT advise people" the actual techies... I found they helped the most. Alternatively, if you're at Uni, your 'head' of first year will have the info.

Yeah my college is on there, so do i get the login info from my tutors or will they need to download it for me?

You need to request a new account. They will give you your own username & password to login and download it yourself.

It's really easy for University of Greenwich, all you have to do is send an email to something like [email protected] and they send you the details.

That's unlucky then. Not much to explain. Your college doesn't just give it to any computing related course then. Which is pretty sad though, you said you're doing "ict software development", there's so much software on MSDNAA that would benefit you (just judging by the course name).
