Windows 7 takes over 4 minutes to startup!

Your HDD benchmark looks weird, it shouldn't be down to 0.5 like that.

The odd low spike maybe, but it should be much higher.

Check your SATA cable isn't the problem

Interesting views on Soluto. I've only ever used it to monitor the boot times and didnt use any of it's "tuning" options. I did my own removal/switching off/uninstalling of stuff on the laptop I used it with.

Was just about to post this. That HDD benchmark is really really abnormal, it should be a constant drop from the centre of the platters to the outside, and not spike down to almost zero.

The access times are almost double what they should be as well. Something is really ****ed there - either the drive, the cable, or the controller.

KB2617858 is the hotfix you need. There are a few more listed here (and below) that are performance-related, but try that one first.

I wish MS would hurry up and release SP2! :)

KB2555428 - The Windows 7 startup process is slow when you create many restore points
KB2510636 - An update that improves the startup performance of Windows 7 and of Windows Server 2008 R2
KB2645611 - Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 stops responding if you try to log on a computer that has multiple monitors
KB2505454 - The startup process is delayed on a computer that has a large hard disk installed and is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

To see if there are any hardware issues (bad drivers etc.) causing the slow down, open up Event Viewer and go to:

Applications and Services Logs->Microsoft->Windows->Diagnostics - Performance -> Operational.

Anything listed there with an event ID between 100-199 are related to startup (200-299 is shutdown)

Event 100 is the actual boot time.
