Windows 7 Trial Download

Hi all

trying to download Windows 7 to try it out on my NC10 but when i use the link to download it, when it gets to 99% i get the message that the download is complete but the download manager could not complete final integrity tests.


are there any way i can get around this? or somewhere else to download from? i dont want to go out a buy it untill i know its going to run ok.
 
Maybe I need to reinstall again but so far this latest install is worse then the beta I tried in january. Need to sort a few things like it doesnt appear to use a pagefile for example

Bittorrent is often a good way to complete 99% files because it'll hash check and replace anything missing rather then downloading the whole lot again
 
I've had problems with the iso files even if they pass the integrity check - I've had to re-download a few times.

If you have trouble with the actual install after you've burnt your media, download it again.
 
Windows 7 never crashes for me? it boots up quicker and is faster and better IMO than vista.

Where in n.devon are u to mate? Im near holsworthy
 
lol win 7 is far from unstable, if you have problems with it, it's more likely a problem with the hardware....or the user :p

Oh no you di'nt :eek:

even the early betas were more stable than a stable thing from stable town!.. just try re-installing it again.. :)
 
Not had any stability problems here... infact on the whole I find Win 7 quite usable even if it tries too hard sometimes... whereas Vista I seriously couldn't live with.

Might be worth a re-install.

To be fair even if Win 7 is unstable, it's not going to be its fault that the trial won't finish downloading, that's far more likely to be the fault of the browser or current OS.

Doesn't use a pagefile?

Mine must be magic then...




It's a hidden file just as it was in previous versions of Windows.
