At the moment I have 2 machines that are both on Vista 64 bit. What I am wondering at the moment is shall I go and get the copies as soon as they come to being released, or sit back and wait a few months before they iron out any early release issues that always emerge?

7 is so heavily based on Vista, you don't have to worry about teething problems.

Asus Xonar drivers are the only thing it's lacking in my experience, but this is down to Asus and not MS obviously

Just pre-order 7 now before the price jumps up :)

If Windows 7 interests you then you should be pre-ordering.
At release the prices are going to increase.

Seriously look at your decision on Windows 7 Ultimate.
For that price you could have 2 copies of Home Premium (one for each of your machines).

What extra would I get for the difference in Home Premium & Ultimate?

Also, how much will the price increase to on release?

The only reason I ended going Ultimate on Vista is that home pro wouldn't automatically connect to my linux server shares without prompting for a password every time. For some reason it wouldn't allow saving of username and password, which is a pain on my media centre where we don't otherwise ever really use keyboard and mouse.

Does anyone know if it would be a similar scenario with 7 Home premium?
