Windows 7 update not working after fresh install

So I reinstalled Windows to try to get the updates to flow again and it worked, so I was doing my setup and everything by the end of it update had stopped working again WTF??

The most I had done that may have affected update was use a tool called windows ultimate tweaker and closed a few features via the uninstall programs windows, SO i restored to default and turn on the features I turned off

AND windows update still will not work what the hell is going on has an update caused it to break itself because I haven't touched it at all :confused:

I guess the 'windows ultimate tweaker' may have broken it. Was it working before you installed that app?

yes it was before I used it but I never changed a setting that would affect windows update plus I went back to default, so I can't see how it would affect it :confused:

Have you checked the date and time? Have you also not got an error message too, do a quick Google for it?

Yea date and time correct I solved the problem, I made the Windows folder hidden, just incase somebody tried to mess with the files on my PC, I didn't realise it would make it hidden to some of the features =/

But yeah I have unhidden the windows folder and its working fine

Dammit I can't believe I reinstalled for that haha thanks anyway guys

We've all done it before - Windows updated my IDE controllers once, then couldn't boot - so decided to reinstall the OS. Reset BIOS and that sorted things out
