Hi guys
i need a little bit of advise . i have just purchased windows 7 premium 64 bit upgrade .
i have 32bit vista home premium on my machine at the moment . do i do a clean install or do i boot from inside windows ?
the documents say that if i format the drive then windows 7 will not activate and i will have to re install windows vista then win 7 .

now i know the old double install trick worked with vista but it doesnt work with win 7 .
can i install windows 7 on a new drive with vista on the other drive then delete vista after install

and can i install vista on another machine after windows 7 has installed

many thanks guys
and happy new year

I did exactly the same as you. format, install new OS, bought the key from MS and it took it without a problem at all. From home prem vista to Win7 Pro 64.

Ok regarding regarding Vista, in terms of the licensing agreement no you may not install it on another machine.

For Windows 7 there is a work around to do a 'clean' install, however because you're going from 32 to 64 bit and for general convenience just run the disc from inside Vista and see what the installer says.
