Windows 7 which installation

As tittle i have just purchased home premium for £85 retail

question is which version to install 32 or 64bit?

I've got a couple of prehistoric games that won't work but that's OK, I just dual boot XP for the odd time I need it.

But really, 64bit rocks.

If you've got a 64 bit system then why not install the 64bit OS to complement it!

I haven't had any problems as far as compatibility goes with Win7 64bit, in fact it's not bad at all

you had best try the 64 bit. Microsoft is starting 128bit next with Windows 8

32 bit is only for backward compatibility really these days. 64 bit all the way.

I'm using the x86 version on my netbook for this reason, as well as having an Atom CPU...

x64 uses slightly more memory, but I wouldn't worry about it unless you're running with a very basic amount of RAM (1GB for example)

I'm running 1.5Gb on my netbook, so I'll stick with the x86 version.

I guess if you have 2gb or more, x64 is the way to go.

I'm running e6750 CPU and 4Gb dual channel ram so should run sweet.

Tomorrow is when i reinstall.

Is the retail boxed edition better ie if i want to uninstall and reinstall on another system without having to worry about reactivation like the OEM editions?

Yes. You can use the Retail version as many times as you wish - providing you remove it from the previous computer before installing again.

You might have an issue still with reactivation but it is usually a matter of a 5 minute phonecall with a robot.
