Windows 7 won't load past password screen

Evening all!

I'm looking for a little help with my windows install.
I turned my computer on earlier today, it reached the
password screen no problem but when I put my password
in and press enter the wee circle spins as if it's loading
but then stops spinning, freezes for a few seconds
and the computer restarts. I tried reinstalling windows
and it was all up and running fine until I restarted it
and now I have the same problem again.
I can boot into safe mode no problem, but I'm at a loose
end as to what could be causing the problem.

Does anyone have an idea as to what could be causing this?
Any help is much appreciates.

Might be an idea to grab the relevant program to test your HDD and make sure that's ok first off.

I tested my hard drive with the software from the samsung website and everything seems fine, I even swapped the hdd with the one in my htpc to make sure and I'm still having problems so definitely not the hdd. I also ran Memtest and it found no errors. However what I have noticed is that when I do a fresh install, before I install drivers etc, I can restart my pc without it crashing. Then when I installed NVidia drivers I was having the same problem again. I don't think my gpu is on the blink although it is a possibility, maybe some sort of conflict with drivers? Not sure.

Has anyone had similar problems before, what else do you think it could be?
