Hi all,

Having a bit of a weird and extremely infuriating problem with Windows 7 x64- seems to be a less common problem but its out there- as yet I can't find a solution.

Basically, when uploading stuff to mobileme iDisk or something like A-Drive the uploader is reporting speeds of upwards of 70mbps and then there's an error message and it dies. Torrents however are fine. Thinking maybe this could be some sort of Java problem but I thought it best to ask.

Any ideas?

The problems I've had in the past for upload speeds were due to the anti-virus/internet security running the upload through itself so it mistakenly thinks the upload is something else. Try disabling the anti-virus and see what happens.

Can't believe that worked; I disabled AVG and everything's fine. How utterly ridiculous is that?! Never had a problem like this with AVG on Vista x64...

Anyway, thanks for the info, I'll drop the AVG guys an e-mail and tell them how retarded they are.

Glad it worked for you buddy but I think it's just how it works. I had the same problem with other leading anti-virus software.

Networking has been a real pain in the bum for me.

Firstly, when I click on my network icon, all my networked PCs show up instantly ( GREAT ) and I can run through folders just peachy ( Great again ) and then I copy a file from one PC to another and woahh!!!!

Firstly I can wait for yonks for the context menu to show up offering to copy/move etc and I click on copy and then I wait and wait for the copying dialog to come up!!!

I am disgusted at the actual transfer speeds of Win7 and Vista on my LAN. XP64 was much much faster and when all my LAN PCs were running XP64, I could happily watch a movie on one PC with the files from another, at the same time I could move files from a 3rd PC to a 4th and the kids could be playing UT all without any lag what-so-ever!

Now, with Win7 and Vista added to the mix, its immpossible.

Why so fast in one area and yet pi55 poor in another??

I had thought of the A/V too, im mostly using AVAST, but I have Avira on 2 PCs and NOD32 on my main PC, and I have had no differences with or without any or all of these A/Vs running... Or not!

No problem here, on a mixed network of 1 mac mini (OS X 1.5), 1 C2D desktop, 1 C2D laptop and 1 Turion 64 laptop (all win 7) transferring files is very quick and I have no delay waiting for a copying dialog to come up. The only problem I have with slowness is when using my Jungledisk online backup, but that's because it's going out over ADSL.

Browsing speed of remote drives when using Terminal Services Client (remote desktop) is still a bad joke however.
