Ok so i have windows 7 pro 64bit & sometimes the mouse cursor will just randomly increase in size like double/triple and become pixelated looking. Its like the Extra Large version of the cursor if you change it in mouse settings. I'm unable to change it back to regular default size unless i restart the PC, which of course i don't want to do every time it occurs.

Its getting really annoying and i saw a thread on a different forum where the guy had the same problem. He thinks its to do with The 5800 Series Graphics cards.

Me and my friend both have an XFX 5850 and he doesn't get the problem at all but i do. Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this or do i just have to wait for Drivers etc...?

Thanks

I'm seeing this. Just put a new rig together yesterday. Got a Sapphire ATI HD 5770 Vapor-X. Windows 7 64-bit Premium, latest ATI drivers 10.1

Edit: Looks like a gigabyte bug then, new bios time.

It's a known bug that occurs when you have the following combo:

p55 mobo
win7
hd5xxx card

Gigabyte say all of their latest BIOS's fixes this issue. You can temp fix it by right click desktop > personalize > mouse options > and put trails on and drag the slider down to lowest, which is what I have to do, but you still notice it a bit

So yeah, update your BIOS and it should fix it - i'm doing mine tomorrow!

Yes it puts the BIOS back to standard. If you make a thread in the Technical section in the Customer Services bit on this forum, they will test the overclock settings on the latest BIOS and then tell you if you can do it or not, just give them a few days to get a test rig setup for it etc ... Obviously you need to take photos (or write it down) of your BIOS screens so you know what settings to re-enter

BIOS version F6 fixed it for me on a GA-P55-UD5 if anyone has one

Pretty sure you lose your warranty on the overclock if you update your BIOS, but far more importantly you should only ever flash the BIOS using stock settings anyway.
