So I've got an MSDN copy of Win 7 x64 Ultimate and I want to put it on my Macbook Pro (May 2008).

I installed Win 7 x64 RC fine, but the RTM doesn't seem to do anything. I select EFI BOOT from the Mac OS launcher, the screen goes black and the disc spins up, then I get a cursor flashing in the top left of the screen then nothing.

Anyone got any ideas?

Just tried the disc in my main PC and it gives me the prompt to boot from CD/DVD as I would have expected, so I don't think it's the media or the recording.

It only gave you the prompt, or did it successfully show the install screen? You can boot from that, and it won't harm your system. To diagnose the issue you must first know that the disc can successfully be booted from.

Yep sorry - disc boots and installer starts fine on PC.

*Edit*

Looks like it didn't like having the release candidate on the partition - just wiped it using Bootcamp, made a new one and this time the disc is installing. Will update later :)

Well Windows is installed and running :)

I was using Bootcamp (2.0) and OSX 10.5 (Leopard).
To get it working, Bootcamp merged the OSX/Win partition back together, made a fresh Windows partition and then it installed fine.

Before that, I selected Windows Installer from Bootcamp and it didn't do anything.

Only issue I seem to have now is no sound, although it says the driver is installed and working.

Yeah, Bootcamp 2.0 is nowhere near as good as 3.0, supplied with Snow Leopard, it's well worth the price, just for that. The sound for me kept cutting out, but with 3.0 it's perfect. :o

Well since I don't need my Win 7 pre-order any more, I can put the money towards the Snow Leopard upgrade :)
