Windows 7 Xp dual boot problem

I installed Windows 7 on my pc over my Vista partition. That was a few weeks ago, I needed to install XP as i needed it for some software problems. I created a partition on my C drive and ran the setup. It booted straight into XP - no problem. I isntalled the drivers etc and then used EasyBCD to restore the MBR so i could access Windows 7 and xp.

Now the Boot manager displays the option for both OS's and Windows 7 works. But the XP drive won't boot as there is no NTLDR. I can always Uninstall the MBR and boot straight into Xp again, but thats a pain.

So does anyone know how i can get it to boot both from the boot menu?

you could try booting from your windows 7 disk, go into the repair menu (you will have to choose your language options first), choose the repair option, then try startup repair. Both your operating systems should be detected, maybe try repairing xp.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention i did that, Windows 7 disk couldn't see the XP install and only the Windows 7 one. I was quite surprised at how little information there is to do this on the web, and most if it says to use EasyBCD which didn't work for me!! But i will try it again and see :)

i'm a bit rusty on xp, but a quick poke about reveals maybe finding the files NTLDR and NTDETECT.com on the web and putting them at the root of your xp partition may help.
