Windows 8.1 black screen on restart

Hi all has anyone had any issues with Windows 8.1 going to a black screen on restart and having to physically reset the power to enable it to boot to Windows?

I have refreshed, reset and it continues to persist after selecting restart from the power options.

Any ideas?

It's a brand new build so I can't see what the issue could be, starting to get well annoyed

It would appear that it's that wonderful software from AMD. Have had nothing but problems with the AMD drivers since buying 2 x 290x

Had a similar issue with a system that had an AMD 7850 in it. If I uninstalled the Cat drivers and then rebooted it would work fine with Windows default display drivers. As soon as I reinstalled the AMD drivers again and restarted - black screen. Not long after that the 7850 started art if acting badly and I RMA'd it.

Now have a GTX 760 in the same PC and have had no issues since. Could have been coincidence, your mileage may vary.
