windows 8.1 iso?

think im about to upgrade my win7hp desktop to a win8pro key a have, and i wondered is there a 8.1 straight to upgrade available rather than go to 8, then upgrade again to 8.1?

seems a lot of faff otherwise.

actually im thinking it may be a moot point. apparently win 8 keys dont show as valid for 8.1 installs!!!

of course it works fine to install 8 then in 8 upgrade to 8.1. wtf Microsoft?!?!?

You use a generic/install key then swap to your own to activate, always has been that way even with a legit free MCE key on Win 8.

I would wait on next update March/April, Win 8.1 adds a lot of issues and they can be seen in Event Viewer.

I have more issues than I did updating Win 8 to 8.1 on this clean 8.1 install, that is why next update is soon after last.

i really dont understand why ms just dont make the sodding iso files available for download.

They will though 1st for peeps with Subs then to DigitalRiver etc. for Joe Public (may be there I have not checked in a while)

got arround to doing a clean install today and the place holder key worked, then swapped to my real one once loaded.
