I thought that they would just accept a "normal" key during install and not need the place holder type of key....? I am sure that happened with update 1, or am I wrong...?

Fairly easy to combine 32 and 64 bit versions into one ISO. However the final ISO is 4.71 GB, so it won't fit on to a single layer DVD. But it will fit on a dual layer DVD or, more ideally, a USB stick which is 8 GB or more in size.

Thanks from me too - but will they accept our own key on install or do we need to use placeholder first etc.

Make a note of both. If your key doesn't work, use the placeholder.

If you have all of the updates installed then you are already running update 3.

I know. I wanted it just in case I had to do a reload. This edition doesn't work on Surface Pro's. It complains about a digital signature miss match on launch by boot USB.

I can combine the 32/64 bit versions of Windows fine. But the result won't fit on a disc or a USB flash disc, if I want UEFI boot support. The reason being that UEFI will only boot from FAT32 devices and FAT32 doesn't support file sizes larger than 4GB.

Yes. You'll have to input the correct placeholder key during the installation. Activate Windows using your upgrade key.
