Windows 8 - Auto loading a program

I know how to get a program to load on startup (shell:startup), but cannot get Windows to stop booting to the damned Start thing. I want to run the unit headless and boot straight into XBMC. It loads, but obviously is not in focus, any ideas?

Try using something like Start8 which I believe bypass the Modern UI and dumps you to the desktop, then put it in startup?
