Mine just sits there. Left it for 1 hr?
This was an upgrade from Win 7 ultimate.
Is there anything I can do/check?

Just ran mine after reading this tuck about 4mins to complete. Looks like yours stopped responding.

Shank.. It only says not responding when I try to end task it. It has been cancelling for the last hour?? Done a sfc /scannow. replaced corrupted files. But I cannot read the logs.
need admin... only way to stop it is to reboot!

Sorry didn't know you was trying to cancel. Only thing I can think of is force cancel, Open task manager and see if it list the program not responding.

No you got it right. It only says not responding when I try to cancel it in task manager. Otherwise it says running.

try at stock, if it works at stock clocks it's a dodgy overclock

Tried it at stock. The same. CPU z doesn't move from 1600ghz. if I open another web it goes up to 3400. But nothing happens with WEI...work on 7 no issues at all.

I get scores of 7.9 apart from my hard drive which gets 5.9. If I run my 2500k at stock or overclocked it always scores 7.9.

Same here CPU & Memory always 7.9, HDD 5.9 and GPU 8.2

Yeah it's actually as useful as the previous versions, no use at all, my sli scores 7.3, in windows 7 it was 7.9, disk data is 7.8 but in 7 was 7.9, only thing that has gone up is cpu, it's now 8.1 in 7 it was only 7.5 or lower i think

OK clean install and it works. 7.6 for 2500k @4.4 and 8.1 for 7950@880 XFD

I know this is quite an old thread.

I am getting the same problems with Windows 8 Experience Index.

My GTX 480's in SLi only score 7.1 where as they were 7.9 in W7.

I am not that bothered as it means nothing but just wondering if this is normal.

If you're getting worse frame rates there's something wrong. If all is well then ignore Wei. It is only there to give a very broad idea of a pc's performance, not to benchmark or troubleshoot.
