Hey guys,
I have a HP laptop that "Originally" had Windows 8 OEM (non pro version) installed,However this install got messed up and i could never recover it no matter what..so i wiped the whole disk and bought Windows 8 Pro X64.
However when i try to install it i get a message saying that the version im trying to install does not match the version that's in the BIOS...in other words its trying to use the "OEM" (Standard windows 8) key that's in the bios and wont let me go any further with installing my (Windows 8 pro) which i have a new genuine key for.
I dont have the recovery disks, the recover partition was screwed...HP in the UK said the laptop was from France..and that they (HP uk) cannot provide the disks for it and that id have to phone HP France.etc..
How do i go about installing my Windows 8 pro on this laptop that has a bloody OEM key tied in the bios?...
