Windows 8 Metro App Thread

Anyone found the netflix app crashes when loading a video and the kindle app crashes to start screen on launch? Getting a bit hacked off with metro apps not working properly...

It looks like the yahoo mail app has been pulled (there was an update for it yesterday and when I checked the details (and I did a full search which came back with nothing) all I got was a message that the app was no longer available), and channel five have launched the demand 5 app (all we need now is a BBC iPlayer app).

I see a lot of complaints on the Netflix app but for me it works pretty well, both the x86 and the ARM version. Yeah, it's quit a few times and restarted, but nowhere near enough to be annoying.

I have noticed a bug with the closed captioning not working though, they broke that a couple of updates ago unfortunately.

WHAT THE MEDIA IS SAYING
------------------------

"Metrotube is by far the most popular YouTube application for Windows Phone. Wouldn’t it be great if that same interface was available for your Surface or PC?"
- WPCentral

"Metrotube is one of the most beloved applications in the Windows Phone Store, and it's been no secret that LazyWorm Apps has been hard at work bringing the app to Windows 8”
- Windows Phone Daily

A few apps I've been using recently:

Code Writer by Actipro Software. Think of notepad++ or gedit for metro. Not perfect but I really like it, and it's tab management is similar to metro IE.

Programming Tutorials by Benny Neugebauer. Aggregates a lot of video tutorials. Nothing you can't find on the web but it's nice to have them all in one place.

Royal Revolt by flaregames. I'm ashamed at the amount of time I've wasted on this game over the weekend but it's really slick, high quality and with good music. It's fun but be warned it's addictive.

The new photoshop app is pretty good

I'm loving the new Flickr webpage that fills up with a mosaic of large pictures. Is there an app that shows your own images (ideally from flickr and other sites) in a similar way?

It is indeed very very good

Network Speed Test from Microsoft Research.

Does exactly what it says on the tin (think: speedtest.net) Even keeps a nice little history log.

Loving the built in food and drink app.
Its brilliant especially with the 50/50 snap screen, makes importing recipes from websites easy, also has meal planner and shopping list.

Only thing i would like adding, which will never happen, is integration with Ocado.
