Hi I tried upgrading to the preview of windows 8 but get the message that cpu is not compatible as it needs to support pae nx and sse2

I cant tell if it does my cpu is a intel i7 920

Am also wondering is this most likely to be same when full version is released on 26th oct as it be pointless me bothering and dont want to take risk

Any advice be helpfull particularly if anyone tried a workaround

I even tried doing it from booting from bios and when get to the option of upgrade it dont let me and i dont want to take gamble of doing fresh install as plan was to check how everything i got installed runs with it and would take to long from a fresh install

Do you have Data Execution Prevention or the equivalence of it enabled in your BIOS?

Edit: what post above mine said

Sussed it had to enable no execute bit, thanks martini1991

Will see what think over next few days first impressions though it runs a lot faster just hope can get used to the tiles thank god you still have access to the main desktop though as when tried earlier version thought was horrible but so far dont mind it

It's definitely snappier than Windows 7 at least for me. I just need to get around to tinkering with the interfaces.

Ninite saves a lot of time with installing much of my typical software.
