Windows 8 Update problem..

So today I tried updating to Windows 8... It got to the "Personalization" bit, when you get asked to pick a colour, but I had no mouse pointer. Couldn't do anything, mouse and keyboard were still functional because the still had lights on.. Seems like a driver problem of some sort.. I tried googling this and I've seen other people with the same problem..

Any way around this? I've put windows 8 on a USB for now but won't try boot it until I find out why the problem is happening! :mad:

i had this to constant keyboard and mouse not working randomly on start up. same as my xfi sound card on start up and i had latest drivers on to. to be honest i had so many problems with it i ended back on win 7 because i couldn't sort it. il upgrade again when i know i can sort it for now im staying on 7.

Is it a USB mouse? If so, tried a different port? My mouse doesn't work in particular ports until Windows has booted up.
