Windows 8 User thread

Its slick fast and easy to use.
It has many features that you have no idea about, but still refuse to watch keynotes.
Split screen is awesome and easy, something that isn't in the main stream and is extremely useful.

And again if you watched the keynotes you would realise how easy they have made apps to build as it's all built in. This is going to be massive and developers are going to leap on this, in a way we haven't seen before

And you slagging of screen res, is laughable.

Even android tablets are larger than the min, unless you count those cheapys running 2.2.
Asus transformer for example is 1280 and still another 12 months till release. As is any tablet worth talking about.

And again this is a developers version to preview Metro and the building tools.
They showed multiple monitor support with desktop on one and metro on anther. So its certainly possible to not have metro on one screen.

That is another good thing, the suspension works well as far as I can see from the new task manager.
Why have ram going to waste, paid for it so use it.
It seems to be extremely well implemented.

html5 will never have the functionality as C++ or delphi or similar. It is a web like language, for making gimmicky and flash like apps. That is why all the apps are pretty pathetic at the moment. There won't be any apps built in html5 that offer considerable functionality. Therefore it is just a gimmicky pretty (ugly imo) game that sits on top of the functional OS. Which I think is a waste of time. But you might like having a weather application on your desktop. That is fullscreen (or across all three sceens).

Another fail, apps can be built in pretty much any languages and all equally supported. They have changed the way languages are handled. Meaning developers are no longer limited.
So another massive fail by you. How manys that.

Again you may want to watch keynotes #1 in OP before making any other massive fails.

Oh and a question, for apps which are already fullscreen but not Metro/WinRT apps, e.g. games, can they be accessed from the Metro start screen?

yes, when you install stuff it adds a tile. But when you click on it. If it's not metro comparable. It switches to desktop mode.

Well what will happen then is that the metro UI will just be a tile (are they called tiles?) to a real application like adobe photoshop or total commander. Then it will be nothing more than a shortcut. They could never reprogram those applications to actually work within metro ui because from what i know the metro ui is html5.

LoL
Good god. It is not html5. It is all languages. Metro gives developers far more options than desktop stuff. It's only a link if it is not metro compatable.

As to what developers will do we will have to wait and see, I can see a split happening between office computers and home. But then with extra options in metro, there is a chance that stuff will go metro. Whilst leaving companies with proprietary software still able to use it.

Right, so we could see adobe photoshop reprogrammed to be compatible with metro ui... This is worse than i thought.

Excuse me while I ignore your comments, seeing s you have got every single thing wrong, back to front and twisted.

Complain, but at least make valid complaints based on facts.

lol no differences, perhaps you should sit through the sales pitch and see what's changed. Or wait for the final release.

Do you ever think about restating your position. Because all you ever do is keep making up new points to prove your stance and when they are showed to be wrong, you just pull something out from no where, which is again wrong.
