Ok.

SInce installing the release preview of W8. my SWTOR has been playing silly games with me. Everytime I head to a cut-scene it will crash to splash screen, recover and then run at 5 fps......

All was well under W7 so am thinking of setting up to be able to dual boot.

Am contemplating a few ideas which are

1 - buy a new 256GB SSD, split this into two partitions, clone my existing C drive over to the first partition and then install W7 onto the second.

2 - leave all alone and install W7 onto an exising SSD in my system (guess I will move my Steam games) and the dual booting that way.

Which option do you all think is the best (stand fast OCUK staff wanting me to splash my cash in their shop :p) and are they both workable.

I have been rather lazy and have a fair few files that I do not want to loose (not done the back up thing, but am now seeing the error of my ways)

If I do go for Option 1, what is a good way of cloning my existing C drive over to the new one?

Cheers

Is it worth the hassle? You could just blow away Windows 8 and reinstall 7, then when 8 reaches general availability just do an upgrade. (assuming you plan to buy Win8)

Have bought the new drive and am currently saving a system image.

Now thinking about using clonezilla.

If i was wanting to keep all my files and settings (inc emails and stuff in Outlook) would i just need to save over the Users folder and then copy that back into the fresh install, or is it a wee bit more involved than that?
