A few months ago i started getting messages from microsoft about how i never had a genuine copy of windows. I had to get a cracked copy because I lost my windows cd and key code.

Now when i formatted with my copied windows cd it seemed fine , but when I turn my computer on, the graphic card page loads up fine then the computer recognises all the devices and so far everything is normal, then the screen turns blank/black and thats all tha happens.

Any advice would be appreciated.

That doesn't sound like copy protection system more like hardware problem, Microsoft GMA just comes up with a message at login if you've used an illegal keycode.

Sounds like a hardware/driver problem, you may want to see if you can get into safe mode. Look in event viewer see if you can spot anything strange. Without more information its hard to say.

safe mode is accessed by pressing F8 from Boot up and choosing that option.

To use Event Viewer, go to Control Panel ----> Administrative tools-----> event viewer.
